OUGD405: Design Process - HOW TO... Get People To Read More
How To.. Get People To Read More - Final Outcomes
After each member of the group had produced there final designs, Danielle was able to use the digital print resource to print off the designs which gave them a professional finish.

Throughout the 'How To...' brief I feel we worked well together as a group. During the initial ideas process we were able to produce ideas and decide upon our final concept which was beneficial as the brief needed to be completed in a short amount of time.
We we all enthusiastic about our chosen concept, which I believe is shown by the amount of deliverables we produced and the fact that each member contributed to the overall designs.

OUGD405: Design Process - HOW TO... Get People to Read More
'HOW TO... get people to read more'
As a group, we began the brief by creating a spider diagram of possible solutions to our set problem 'How to Get People to Read More'. For our final solution we chose to create an inter-active wall muriel as this concept was relevant to the individual we had each produced and we felt it would effectively encourage children to start reading at a younger age and then continue to.
We decided to create a series of wall murals from one point to another to communicate the idea of a journey, collectively we decided the end point should be the library as this was relevant to the subject matter. As well as the murals we would also produce other items such as bookmarks, posters and a sticker chart which would tie into the main design whilst showing a range of ways to communicate our message.
Once we had decided on the outcome for the brief, we were able to assign specific tasks to each member of the group. I began my specific tasks by producing research into quotes to use on our wall murals. As our target audience was young children we wanted to use simple, positive quotes which would encourage reading and therefore communicate our message 'get people to read more'.
I used secondary research to collect this research, creating searches into famous quotes from children's books aswell as encouraging quotes.
I was also asked by the group to create posters to accompany the wall murals in communicating our message to the target audience.
Although each of our outcomes for the brief were produced by different members of the group, we agreed it was important for all the outcomes to give the impression of being part of the same series or set. Taking this concept into consideration, when I was designing the posters I kept the designs simple by only using the illustrations designed and created by Danielle and the typeface by Emily similarly to the murals themselves.
