In order to gain inspiration on the design aesthetic I would apply to all the deliverables of the brief, I began the design process for the second studio brief of the module by collecting imagery of traditional British pubs which I wanted to use as the concept for my beer festival.
Before I could start designing the deliverables of the brief, I needed to chose a name for my beer festival, I began by brainstorming stereotypical pub names such as 'The Fox & Hound' etc. I also looked into cockney rhyming slang for pub and beer etc which I felt would be particularly appropriate for the traditional British pub concept.
I was then able to decide on the important information for the event which such as the location, dates and times etc. I chose to have the event as a pop-up event which theoretically could travel all over the country however, I decided it will begin in London's Hyde Park as it is the capital of Great Britain.
I specifically chose the dates of the beer festival in order to coincide with the World Cup football tournament as this which I believe would be appropriate to incorporate as a event within my festival.
The beer festival will be a week-long event, in order to keep the times of the festival appropriate for my target audience of professionals during the week it will open at six o'clock - after many will finish work - and during the weekend it will open earlier at three o'clock.
A list of deliverables for studio brief two
I then began creating a list of proposed events for my beer festival, as well as traditional events such as football match screenings and beer tastings I also want to propose 'stereotypical' British events such as 'royal look-a-likes' and 'queuing contest' to give a light-hearted feel to the event.
